Who was the highest level CIA manager who authorized the covert CIA operative to surreptitiously drug me at the Davis Athletic Club in early August 2014?

Does CIA Director John Brennan currently know that a covert CIA operative surreptitiously drugged me at the Davis Athletic Club in early August 2014, rendering me unconscious and paralyzed for approximately four hours?

Who were the CIA scientists and \ or CIA medical personnel who prepared and \ or obtained the drug(s) that the covert CIA operative used to surreptitiously drug me at the Davis Athletic Club in early August 2014?

Were the CIA agents and the CIA operatives who were involved in the plot to surreptitiously drug me at the Davis Athletic Club in early August 2014 working exclusively within the CIA Clandestine Service or were some of the CIA agents working for the CIA bureaucracy outside of the CIA Clandestine Service?

Why was I introduced to several dozen covert CIA operatives who were working deep cover assignments in foreign countries over the course of the past eight years?  Were these several dozen covert CIA operatives who were working deep cover assignments in foreign countries all part of the CIA Clandestine Service? If so, why in G*d’s name was I introduced to several dozen covert CIA operatives who were working deep cover assignments in foreign countries?

I am currently attempting to manage a situation where I know the identities of several dozen CIA agents, CIA operatives and CIA assets; while at the same time I also know that the CIA attempted to assassinate me by having a covert CIA operative surreptitiously drug me at the Davis Athletic Club.  Several days after the first assassination attempt, after I barely survived the CIA attempt to assassinate me by having a covert CIA operative surreptitiously drug me at the Davis Athletic Club, the same covert CIA operative appeared in the locker room of the Davis Athletic Club carrying a small (+/- 6 fl oz) insulated Thermos bottle that I assumed contained more of the drug that he initially used to surreptitiously drug me.  My obvious assumption was that the covert CIA operative had returned to the locker room of the Davis Athletic Club with more of the drug so that he could attempt to surreptitiously drug me a second time.  For some reason, on the second occasion, the covert CIA operative hurriedly left the Davis Athletic Club locker room with the small Thermos insulated bottle only a few minutes after he initially entered the locker room.

So, where do we go from here?  Will CIA Director John Brennan eventually order a thorough investigation of the CIA attempt to assassinate me by having a covert CIA operative surreptitiously drug me at the Davis Athletic Club?  Will US Attorney General Loretta Lynch eventually prosecute the CIA agents who were involved in the CIA attempt to assassinate me by having a covert CIA operative surreptitiously drug me at the Davis Athletic Club?

I am quite likely extremely naive in my expectation that the appropriate branches of the US government will eventually conduct a complete, thorough and impartial investigation of the US CIA attempt to assassinate me by having a covert CIA operative surreptitiously drug me at the Davis Athletic Club in early August 2014.  We will all eventually learn whether the US government is based upon the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the rule of law; or whether the US is actually a corrupt, compromised Banana Republic, where the ruling oligarchy only uses the Constitution and the Bill of Rights as fig leaves to conceal their cynical manipulation of the federal government, in order to perpetuate their control of the American power structure.

Did John Brennan have prior knowledge of the CIA attempt to assassinate John Russell Batchelder at the Davis Athletic Club in early August, 2014?  If John Brennan had prior knowledge of the CIA attempt to assassinate John Russell Batchelder at the Davis Athletic Club in early August, 2014, then John Brennan as well as all the other assassination plot co-conspirators should indicted, prosecuted and sent to prison.

If John Brennan did not have prior knowledge of the CIA attempt to assassinate John Russell Batchelder at the Davis Athletic Club in early August, 2014, then at a minimum John Brennan should apologize to John Russell Batchelder and to the American people for the criminal despicable actions of the CIA agents who were involved in the plot to assassinate John Russell Batchelder while John Brennan was Director of the US Central Intelligence Agency.  After John Brennan issues his apology to John Russell Batchelder and to the American people, he should then submit his resignation to President Barack Obama.

John Russell Batchelder knows the names of several dozen CIA agents and CIA assets who either participated in the CIA attempt to assassinate John Russell Batchelder at the Davis Athletic Club in early August, 2014, or who became aware of the CIA attempt to assassinate John Russell Batchelder at the Davis Athletic Club after John Russell Batchelder was rushed in an ambulance to Sutter Davis Hospital, unconscious and paralyzed, after being surreptitiously drugged by a covert CIA operative at the Davis Athletic Club.

If the US media and the US government are unwilling or unable to investigate the CIA attempt to assassinate John Russell Batchelder at the Davis Athletic Club in early August, 2014, John Russell Batchelder is prepared to expose in great detail in this blog the several dozen CIA agents and CIA assets who either participated in the attempt to assassinate John Russell Batchelder or were aware that a CIA covert operative surreptitiously drugged John Russell Batchelder at the Davis Athletic Club, resulting in John Russell Batchelder becoming unconscious and paralyzed for several hours.  I do not know how close I was to death after being surreptitiously drugged by a covert CIA operative at the Davis Athletic Club, but I do know that I was unconscious and unable to move for several hours while I was being transported in an ambulance and while I was being attended to in the Emergency Room at Sutter Davis Hospital.

My preference would be for the US CIA and the US Justice Department to conduct a discrete investigation of the CIA attempt to assassinate me and then bring the guilty perpetrators to justice.  If the CIA and the Justice Department are unwilling and unable to investigate and prosecute the guilty CIA agents involved in the assassination plot, my only alternative will be exposing the guilty parties in this blog.

As I have previously mentioned, I can provide several dozen names of CIA agents and of CIA assets to CIA investigators and to Justice Department investigators.  There are literally several dozen CIA agents and CIA assets who have detailed knowledge of the CIA plot to assassinate John Russell Batchelder.  As George Tenet is fond of saying, investigating and prosecuting the CIA agents who attempted to assassinate John Russell Batchelder will be a “slam dunk”.

Whether or not the CIA and the Justice Department investigate the CIA attempt to assassinate John Russell Batchelder, the guilty CIA agents will be publicly exposed.  Stay tuned.

In many respects, the disruptions and dislocations precipitated by globalization, the computer revolution, the communication revolution, artificial intelligence, robotics, etc. are part of a continuum that began with the development of basic tools and technology by primitive homo sapiens. Individuals within societies who did not promptly begin to utilize tools and technologies that their peers had begun to adopt were out competed and marginalized by their early adopter peers. On a larger scale, social groups that were slow to utilize tools and technologies that their neighbors had begun to utilize were often out competed by their neighboring social groups.

Approximately five hundred years ago, Western Europeans traveled to the Western Hemisphere and used their superior tools and technology to enslave the Native Americans, loot the wealth of the Native Americans and ultimately displace the Native Americans with Western European immigrants to the Western Hemisphere. 

As European countries experienced population growth in the past five hundred years, and as European agriculture became more efficient and required less manpower in the past five hundred years, the surplus population in European countries often emigrated from Europe to the Western Hemisphere, Australia, New Zealand, etc. Most Americans, except for Native Americans, have family histories that are a reflection of the mass migration from Europe to the United States in the past five hundred years.

Fast forward to the early 21st Century. Both Western European democracies and the American democracy are experiencing populist revolt against the consequences of rapid globalization and rapid technological change. The elites in Western Europe and in the United States are increasingly taking defensive measures to protect themselves and to perpetuate their oligarchic control of the political-economic power institutions in their societies. Almost sixty years ago, Ayn Rand wrote “Atlas Shrugged” as a 1,200 page long expression of her disdain for the attempts of the less capable and less productive “masses” to usurp the political-economic powers of the talented and productive elites through the pervasive “democraticization” (‘power to the people”) of their societies.

The attempts of the Republican Party oligarchy and the attempts of the Democratic Party oligarchy to overrule the results of the popular vote in their respective party primaries are creating an epiphany for many Republicans and many Democrats, i.e. the role of the average American voter is to support the major decisions that have already been made by the political party elites, not to make their own independent decisions.

The elites in “Atlas Shrugged” moved to their own separate communities to escape the “totalitarianism of the masses”. The elites in the United States are increasingly living in their own secure enclaves, physically and socially separate from the common people in their communities. Even my retired working professional parents (father was Electrical Engineer with an MBA, mother was a K-12 school teacher) moved to a secure gated community in northern Ohio nine years ago, as a result of their concerns for their safety and for the security of their home. The last two apartments that my son (BA in Physiology, working as an EMT) has rented in the greater Sacramento area have been within secure gated apartment complexes that have their own on site security guards, in addition to their impenetrable perimeter security fences and gates.

My prognosis : If the US remains a liberal constitutional democracy, there will be more candidates who will promote democratic socialism (a la Bernie) and there will be more candidates who promote populist authoritarianism (a la Donald). Of course there is also the risk that the US oligarchy will fabricate a national security crisis to justify a Neo Fascist Military-Intelligence Coup d’ Etat in order to install their own authoritarian regime. Don’t smirk and laugh. The Lyndon Baines Johnson – CIA – Mafia assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy and the subsequent Coup d’ Etat was essentially a Neo Fascist Coup d’ Etat that the US oligarchy justified based upon the threat of Soviet Union expansionism during the Cold War. Professor Jerry Kroth of Santa Clara University has been studying the JFK assassination for several decades.  In the video below he outlines his thoughts regarding the most likely explanation of who killed John Fitzgerald Kennedy.  At the conclusion of this video, Professor Kroth summarizes his narrative with the comment that the United States is no more than a second rate banana republic, due to how its political economic elite and how its military industrial intelligence complex were all so unethical and so corrupt that they acquiesced to the United States Central Intelligence Agency and its mafia allies after the Central Intelligence Agency and its mafia allies murdered John Fitzgerald Kennedy and then also murdered more than one hundred American citizens because they knew too much about the US CIA plot to kill John Fitzgerald Kennedy.

In the following film, Douglas Horne discusses how the US Central Intelligence Agency took control of the Zapruder film and all the extant copies of the Zapruder film on Saturday November 23, 1963.  When the US CIA learned that the Zapruder film captured the frontal head shot that killed John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the CIA transported the original Zapruder film to a Top Secret CIA photography lab located in a Kodak facility in Rochester, N.Y.  Douglas Horne states in the video that the CIA photography technicians crudely altered and edited the Zapruder film, so that it did not reveal the frontal head shot and so that it did not reveal the two second stop of the Kennedy limo that enabled the grassy knoll sniper to accurately shoot JFK in the left temple.

There is a nine part series originally sponsored by the History Channel that presents compelling evidence of the US CIA plot to kill John Fitzgerald Kennedy.  (See link to episode #1 below) There is an especially chilling interview in episode #6, where a US Special Forces Green Beret assassin reveals that he was brought back to the US from a foreign post at the request of the US CIA, so that he could murder American citizens inside the US because they knew too much about the CIA plot to assassinate JFK.  The Green Beret assassin said in the interview in episode #6 that he refused the CIA request to kill American citizens inside the US, because when he was recruited into the CIA assassination program he was told that the mafia was typically hired by the CIA to kill American citizens inside the US.  “Banana Republic” may be too complementary to describe the American political-economic-intellectual elite and American political institutions.  What do you think?

George Herbert Walker Bush’s father, Prescott Bush, was an avid supporter of Adolf Hitler and Fascism in the early 1930’s.  In the early months of the first Franklin Roosevelt administration, some American Wall Street financiers (including Prescott Bush) and some American industrialists secretly plotted with a famous American war hero named General Smedley Butler to assassinate Franklin Roosevelt and to install General Smedley Butler as a benign Fascist dictator.  General Smedley Butler waited until the assassination and coup d’ etat plotters had committed to their conspiracy before he went to the US Congress and testified to Congressional committees regarding the assassination plot and coup plot.  Franklin Roosevelt decided to not prosecute the coup plotters, because it would have been so scandalous and divisive to arrest and prosecute some of the wealthiest and most influential American financiers and industrialists.  A brief biography of General Smedley Butler can be found at:

The video that follows describes the close ties that Prescott Bush and several of his Wall Street business partners had with the most prominent German financiers who were backing Adolf Hitler throughout the 1930’s.  Prescott Bush and several of his fellow NAZI sympathizers later became managing directors and senior officers of a large NY bank that was actually a front for the German Third Reich.  Prescott Bush also worked as a secret agent for the Third Reich, until J. Edgar Hoover in a written memo dated shortly after the JFK assassination.

Kathryn Olmsted is currently the chairperson of the history department at the University of California at Davis.  Ms. Olmsted has a BA from Stanford and a PhD from U C Davis.  Kathryn Olmsted wrote a book in the mid 1990s under the tutelage of her mentor Dr. Roland Marchand, who was also a history professor at U C Davis.  The title of Dr. Olmsted’s book is “Challenging the Secret Government ; The Post Watergate Investigations of the CIA”.  Bottom line : The US CIA successfully prevented the US Congress from effectively investigating the US CIA and the CIA’s myriad assassination plots against foreign political leaders and against American political leaders.  Some of the Congressional investigations of the CIA occurred when George Herbert Walker Bush was the director of the CIA.  According to video taped interviews with many CIA officers who worked under George Herbert Walker Bush during the Congressional investigations of the CIA, George H W Bush directed the legal staff at the CIA to thoroughly purge all CIA files of any documents that could possibly be damaging to the CIA if they were discovered by the US Congressional investigators.

Henry Kissinger, in his recent book titled “World Order”, writes extensively about the Westphalian World Order that emerged from the European international consensus that followed the Thirty Years War and from the negotiations that produced the Treaty of Westphalia.

Unfortunately, Henry Kissinger’s writing about the Westphalian World Order at the beginning of his book titled “World Order” only serves to contrast the relatively stable and predictable international balance of power status quo that existed for more than one hundred years after the consummation of the Treaty of Westphalia with the break down of the integrity and viability of the nation state in the current era of globalization and instantaneous inexpensive global communication.

How can nation states formulate and manage public policy based upon the unchallenged power and sustainability of the nation state when citizens around the world can conduct business, invest funds and move assets across national borders with a simple keystroke on a computer keyboard?

There have literally been trillions of dollars of investment funds moved into and out of Emerging Market countries in the past six years.  Most of those trillions of dollars in “hot money” could be moved around the world with simple computer commands if the investors and investment managers decided to move their funds using widely available computer electronic technology.

Even an authoritarian state like the Peoples Republic of China has been frustrated by its inability to effectively limit capital flight as hundreds of billions of dollars have been moved from China by Chinese citizens in the past year.  This morning (11.07.2015) the Wall Street Journal published an article regarding the difficulties and risks facing the CCP leadership as they attempt to introduce market reforms into the Chinese economy.  In the article, the WSJ writers state that the CCP leadership thinks that up to $5 trillion dollars may be moved out of China by Chinese citizens in the next several years if the CCP relaxes government restrictions on cross border capital flows.  There are already plane loads of Chinese investors regularly arriving at LAX on real estate shopping tours as Chinese citizens attempt to hedge their political and financial bets by purchasing homes and commercial real estate assets in the US.

The United States has a very different situation that its national government is attempting to manage and remediate.  US based multinational corporations are holding approximately two trillion dollars in liquid assets in foreign investment accounts that they do not want to transfer to the US due to the very high corporate tax rates in the United States.

Historically, one of the basic functions of the national government in the Westphalian World Order has been to establish physical borders and to control travel across physical borders.  In the past thirty years the concept and practicality of national borders has been challenged around the world.  There are currently no passports required by EU citizens if they want to travel within the EU.  There are currently no established and secured national borders in most Islamic countries located in North Africa, the Middle East and SW Asia.  National borders in Central America and South America are regularly ignored by millions of immigrants and refugees who are fleeing civil wars, economic hardship and intolerable levels of personal violence and crime in their native countries.  Even the United States, with its high levels of expenditures on law enforcement, prisons and national defense is currently hosting approximately fifteen to twenty million immigrants who have overstayed their visas or who have illegally entered the United States by surreptitiously crossing the American border.

How can national governments establish and maintain order if they do not control the flow of people across their borders?  How can national governments establish and manage economic policies when business managers and investment managers can easily shift economic activity or investment funds to other more lenient or more hospitable countries?

How can national governments establish and maintain defense and national security policies when they are continuously faced with asymmetrical threats from political and military forces that are not directly associated with a nation state?  The US has spent several trillion dollars in the post 09.11.2001 era attempting to eradicate the threat posed by Islamic militants based in Afghanistan and other Islamic countries.  Unfortunately, the US expenditure of large amounts of blood and treasure in the attempt to eliminate the threat of radical Islam in the Middle East has only radicalized hundreds of thousands of young Muslims who want to join the jihad against Western Civilization.

The obvious solution to the increasing limitations of attempting to formulate and manage public policy based upon the Westphalian nation state is to create transnational organizations that transfer national power to international organizations.  Woodrow Wilson’s global vision as embodied in the League of Nations has been replicated in the form of the United Nations, the World Bank, the IMF, etc.  The UN, the World Bank, the IMF and similar organizations have been positive forces in the improvement of global civilization, but their limitations are also increasingly evident in the Ukraine, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Libya, Sinai, Niger, Chad, Mali, etc.

Even though the nation state is being superseded by globalization and technological change, traditional geopolitics continues to be played on a nation state level all around the world.  For insights into how current globalization trends are creating challenges to the effort to establish and maintain world order I highly recommend “World Order” by Henry Kissinger.

A couple of my personal experiences twenty years ago that precipitated an epiphany related to the integration of computers, digital media, the Internet and globalization are now nothing more than quaint historical anecdotes in the history of the frantic development of new technologies and the frantic development of new methods of integrating new technologies.

Both of my personal experiences were related to my efforts to help my son, Garrison Alton Batchelder, research information for some elementary school reports.  The first report assignment was to research information related to his name.  Garrison, Alton and Batchelder are all derived from ancient and medieval English words.  When I entered the word “Alton” as a search parameter in the most popular search engine in 1995 (Altavista), I was provided a list of web sites that included the web site for a town named Alton, England.  When I clicked on the web site for Alton, England, I was immediately connected to a web server located in Alton, England.  For a variety of reasons, I was astonished that a basic personal computer, connected to a 1200 Baud modem, which was in turn connected to the Internet using a $19.95 per month AOL account, could nearly instantaneously connect to and download information from a web server located six thousand miles away in Alton, England.  After having lived in South America in the late 1960’s, and after having lived in several European countries in the late 1970’s, I was accustomed to thinking of international communication links as being slow connecting, unreliable and expensive.  My experience in 1995 connecting to a web server located in Alton, England, while living in Davis, California, immediately transformed my perspective on national boundaries, the meaning of distance and the possibilities of global citizenship.

The second experience that I had while helping my son research information for an elementary school report was related to his report on the baseball legend Hank Aaron.  We drove to the local public library and searched the shelves for books on the life and career of Hank Aaron.  The only books related to Hank Aaron that we could find were older books that had scant and outdated information.  After we returned home with the few books that we could find on Hank Aaron, I decided to enter Hank Aaron’s name in the Altavista search engine on my personal computer.  To my amazement, Altavista immediately found a web site dedicated to Hank Aaron that was linked to the Atlanta Braves baseball team.  The Hank Aaron web site contained a detailed personal biography for Hank Aaron along with many photographs depicting Hank Aaron from birth to his contemporary years.  Of course the Hank Aaron web site also contained detailed information and many photographs related to Hank Aaron’s phenomenal career playing baseball while breaking down many “color barriers” in American professional baseball.  Additionally, in what was “cutting edge” Internet technology for 1995, the web site also contained brief video clips that documented milestones in Hank Aaron’s professional baseball career.

For someone who had spent a large part of his life reading and performing research in university libraries and in public libraries, the experiences I had in 1995 while researching my son’s name and while researching Hank Aaron’s baseball career on the Internet precipitated a fundamental change in my perspective on many of the most important assets and activities in my life.  Yet, in many respects, the technologies that I used in 1995 to help my son research his school papers are now quaint, obsolete and intolerably primitive for most people who have even a basic familiarity with personal computers, smart phones and the Internet.

One of the current popular themes in literature, film and drama is the pervasive intrusion of technologies into all aspects of human social life, human economic life and human political life.  Most people proactively attempt to keep up with technological innovation due to the perceived benefits of being able to use new technologies in their professional and personal lives.  Both human beings on an individual level and organizations on a macro level are often overwhelmed by the speed of technological innovation and by the unforeseen consequences of utilizing new technologies.

Privacy concerns and security concerns are issues for both individuals and organizations in the new Internet age.  Target stores and Home Depot stores have recently experienced computer network security breeches where hackers have obtained personal information and credit card information for tens of millions of Target customers and for tens of millions of Home Depot customers.  In the past week, the IRS and the federal Office of Personnel Administration have announced computer network security breeches that have compromised detailed personal information for several million taxpayers and for every single federal employee, including all members of the US armed forces and all members of US federal law enforcement agencies.

The US government recently concluded that the Chinese (PRC) government was behind the intrusion into the federal Office of Personnel Administration computer networks and that the Chinese government now has all personnel files for all  people who have worked for the US government since 1980.  Included in the personnel files for all US government employees that were ex-filtrated by the Chinese government were the 120 page security clearance investigation reports compiled for all people who needed a security clearance to perform their work for the US government.  The Chinese government now has detailed personal and professional information relating to all the people who have worked for the US government since 1980, including people who perform sensitive national security duties for the US State Department, the US military, US law enforcement agencies and US intelligence agencies.

Not only is the US government at risk of data ex-filtration from international threats, but the US government is also at risk for internal data ex-filtration by US government employees like Bradley Manning and by US government contractors like Edward Snowden.  Bradley Manning downloaded nearly one million files from US defense department computer networks and gave the files to Wikileaks for investigation and for publication.  Similarly, Edward Snowden downloaded nearly two million data files from NSA computer networks  and gave some of the data files to Wikileaks.  Just last week, the Telegraph UK newspaper published a report that alleged that both China and Russia had somehow obtained nearly one million of the files that Edward Snowden had ex-filtrated and that they had been able to decrypt the information contained in the files.

The widespread global utilization of personal computers, smart phones, computer networks and the Internet has occurred within a very brief twenty year history of the commercial development of the Internet.  The pervasive spread and utilization of computer technology and Internet related technologies has already more significantly transformed global human civilization than any other technological revolution in human history.  Rapid technological change and rapid economic change precipitated by rapid technological change have historically been associated with social instability and fundamental political change.  The ability of human beings as individuals and as members of social organizations to effectively manage and control the consequences of pervasive technological change and pervasive economic change has been challenged by past technological revolutions and will certainly be challenged by the current computer revolution, the current Internet revolution and the current globalization revolution.

Perhaps it required a politically independent entity like the United Nations to release a report stating what has been obvious to anyone who has followed international news for the past several years; i.e. global jihad has been growing at an accelerating rate since the 09.11.2001 terrorist attacks in the US.  The recent UN report also contained information that even surprised me; i.e. more than half of all countries in the world are now exporting Islamic radicals who are committed to jihad in support of their Islamic sect and against Western Civilization.

The United States and its NATO allies have been fighting Islamic radicals in SW Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Sub Saharan Africa continuously since the 09.11.2001 terrorist attacks.  The cost to the US alone has been more than $4T in direct and indirect financial costs and more than 100,000 dead and permanently maimed soldiers.

What have been the net results of the US – NATO military misadventures in SW Asia, the Middle East and Africa?  The Taliban, al Qaeda and ISIS operate openly in rural Afghanistan and the Taliban are actually providing the most effective administrative services in most rural areas in Afghanistan.  Since the US invaded Iraq and deposed Saddam Hussein in 2003, Iraq has devolved into a multi-front Sunni – Shiite civil war and humanitarian catastrophe of historical proportions.  The Sunni controlled area in Iraq is being administered as a Caliphate under the control of ISIS. Libya no longer exists as a unified country and Libya has now been partitioned into numerous Caliphates by various Islamic militias.

ISIS and al Qaeda (al Nusra Front) now control more than fifty percent of the land area in Syria and they are administering areas under their control in what was once known as Syria as Caliphates.

Yemen has been partitioned in the past year into several different autonomous regions under the control of the Shiite Houthis, the Sunni AQAP, the Sunni ISIS and the pro Saudi Sunni regime that once controlled Sanaa.

Somalia has also been partitioned into several regions under the control of various Islamic warlords and secular warlords.

Nigeria, Niger, Chad and Mali are all under attack by Boko Harem and other Islamic militias that continue to control large areas where they have displaced the national government military and the national government administrative services.

It is shocking to me that the US has spent several trillion dollars and has lost more than 100,000 KIA and permanently maimed soldiers fighting Islamic radicals since the 09.11.2001 terrorist attacks and the net results have been an unmitigated geopolitical disaster.  The US invasion and occupation of Iraq facilitated the Iranian hegemonic integration of Iraq into Iran’s Shiite sphere of influence.  The Afghan “democratic” government centered in Kabul continues to survive as a result of the US financial and logistic support of the Afghan army and of the Afghan national police force.  Libya is an open haven for radical Islamists and ISIS recently established another Sunni Caliphate in eastern Libya.

More and more pro American international political economists, like Ian Bremmer in his recent book titled “Superpower”, are promoting the strategy that the US should merely attempt to contain the fallout of radical Islam and that the US should abandon the effort to install liberal capitalist constitutional democracy in the Islamic world.  Of course Samuel P. Huntington, in “The Clash of Civilizations”, published in 1994, warned that the US and Western Europe would fail miserably if they ever attempted to transplant Western Civilization into non Western societies.  Henry Kissinger, in his recent book titled “World Order”, also obliquely commented on the expensive and ultimately failed efforts by the US to impose democratic capitalism on the Islamic world.

It will be difficult for the US government to step back from its interventions in the Islamic world and merely attempt to contain the threat from radical Islam.  It is easier for US political leaders to beat war drums in the interest of US national security than it is for US political leaders to attempt to explain to American voters that the US efforts of the past fifteen years to defeat radical Islam have, in spite of the enormous expenditure of American blood and treasure, been tragic failures that have only motivated tens of thousands of additional young Muslims to join the jihad against Western Civilization.

Richard Nixon confronted a similar political conundrum when he attempted to end the US involvement in the thirty year long US – Vietnam War.  Nixon and Kissinger kept repeating the mantra “Peace With Honor” as they negotiated the end of the US – Vietnam War, knowing that the North Vietnamese would overrun South Vietnam as soon as the US military stopped propping up the puppet South Vietnamese government.

It remains to be seen whether a Nixon stature American political leader will be willing and able to honestly explain to the American people the limits of American power when the US is confronting the dangers of the radical Islam that is festering throughout the Islamic world.
